A better commute is possible

As summer comes to a close, too many of us are spending our free time in traffic instead of with family and friends.

We deserve better and as your state senator, I’ll make improving our train system — and our roads — a top priority.

Last week Governor Ned Lamont announced a major investment to make the New Haven Line train service faster, more frequent, and more reliable. This $1.6 billion project will modernize tracks, signals, electrical systems and bridges. When completed, trains will be able to travel at higher speeds, and riders could save as much as 25 minutes each way on trips between New Haven and New York City. That’s a lot of time back in your day!

Better train service also means:

  • Fewer stressful commutes and more dependable workdays
  • Less traffic on our roads and highways
  • Cleaner air and a stronger local economy

Connecticut needs to prioritize transportation — both our trains and our roads. You deserve a transportation system that works for you. I’ll keep fighting until we have one.
